The Familiar Table

Families have come around the dining table since the beginning of time. The table is both a structural object and a symbol of structure. Regardless of the shape, size or value, when we gather around the table to share a meal, it becomes a stage upon which the recurring archetypical familiar themes and stories of humanity have been and continue to be played out. The familiar relations table is a nod to the complexities that exist in all family structures, the conscious and unconscious power struggles that bubble up when families gather round.
